John
Ashenhurst writes a good bit of Sounding Line Digest, his
white papers, the occasional industry article, and does occasional business
strategy consulting for vendors and carriers. John has been involved in insurance
technology since 1975, founding DPCI (creating CAIR’s Evolution system,
among other things), founding TAARReport (with Rick Morgan), founding
Silver Plume (with Rick and Loren Parsons), managing iiX, and acting as AMS
Holding Group Executive VP. Now retired, he lives with his better half, Yvonne,
in Deer Harbor, on Orcas Island, in the San Juan Islands, northwest of Seattle,
Washington — and now gets out lots more in his Camano Troll, Gumption.
Steve
Brightbill also writes a good bit of Sounding Line Digest. He’s
been involved in insurance technology reporting and publishing for nearly
20 years, including a long stint as editor of TAARReport. His company,
Betagraph,
provides creative and technical services for marketing communications and
publishing. That includes paper and electronic media, and the design, building,
and improvement of Web sites. Steve and Vicki work together in the same office
space, but sometimes get so wrapped up in their individual projects that they
end up e-mailing each other.
Vicki
Brightbill writes an occasional article for Sounding Line Digest,
generally on a technical subject and serves as Webmaster for the Sounding
Line site. She’s been involved in desktop publishing since “day one” and
moved into the Web world, a new publishing medium, several years ago. She
also has 14 years experience as manager of a life insurance company’s desktop
publishing department. Vicki has completed a graduate-level IT/e-Business
program; and, as a partner in Betagraph,
she handles the company’s technical projects and technology resources including
Web design and development and a Web hosting service.
